Baronial Champs on the 25th day of May, Anno Sociotatus 54

An account of the court of Elsjarn and Dubheasa, Baron and Baroness of Thescorre, and Padraig and Julianna, Baron and Baroness of the Rhydderich Hael in the Kingdom of Aethelmearc. Held at Baronial Champs on the 25th day of May, Anno Sociotatus 54 in the Barony of Thescorre reported by Lord Andrew of Thescorre, Ravens Tongue Pursuivant and THL Zofia Kowalewska, Ice Dragon Pursuivant and White Horn Herald.

Morning court was opened and their (plural) Excellencies welcome all for attending. Their Excellencies explained the responsibilities and expectations of their Baronial champions. It was then announced that the Archery competition would be delayed due to weather. With that court was suspended until the evening.

In the evening their Excellencies reopened their court and called before them the autocrat's of the event, Lady Nicole du Marais and Baroness Ekaterina Volkova. Their Excellencies thanked them for holding a wonderful and only slightly damp event and gave them leave to conduct their business. The Autocrat's called forth members of Three Swans, members of the Aardvarks, and all of the Marshals and Coordinators and thanked them for their service.

ARCHERY

HAEL: Their Excellencies then called forth their Archery champion, Lord Abdullah al-Rashid, thanked him for his service and relieved him of his regalia. They then called forth their new champion, Tadeuz. Scroll by Baron Caleb

THESCORRE: Their Excellencies then called forth their Archery champion, Lord Andrew of Thescorre, thanked him for his service and relieved him of his regalia. A&S

HAEL: Their Excellencies then called forth their A&S champion, Minamoto Roku-i Sakurako for their service and relieved him of the regalia. They then called forth their new champion, Baron Rhiannon Elandris Glyndyfrdwy. Scroll forthcoming

THESCORRE: Their Excellencies called forth their Arts and Science champion, Torbjörn Sigurdson. They thanked him for his service and asked that he remain in service for a short time longer, as the rains had delayed his potential successor. A new Arts and Science champion would be decided at a later date.

BARDIC

THESCORRE: Boudica of Thescorre was called before their Excellencies. Boudica was thanked for their tireless service as Bardic champion and relieved of the regalia. FENCING:

HAEL: Their Excellencies called for Fuego! And thanked them for the valiant display on the lists as champion and relieved them of the regalia. They then called for Master Caleb Reynolds and ask him to serve as the Baronial Champion. Scroll by Mistress Sthurrim Caithnes.

THESCORRE: Their Excellencies then requested the presence of Lord Padraig Ua Ceileachair. His service as fencing champion had come to an end and their Excellencies thanked him for his service and relieved him of the regalia. HEAVY:

HAEL: Their Excellencies called forth the regalia as the champion, Lord Theowyndwood Keyote was not on site. They then asked Lord Davin ap Einion to stand as champion. Words by Brother Bobby. Scroll forthcoming

THESCORRE:: Sir Aquila de Athos was called before their Excellencies. He returned the regalia of heavy weapons champion and was thanked for his service. As he was leaving the presence of their Excellencies of the Rhydderich Hael, their Excellencies of Thescorre also requested the presence of Davin and inquired as to his possible assistance as a privateer for the barony. THROWN WEAPONS:

HAEL: Their Excellences called forth Lady Thalia Papillon, the Thrown Weapons champion and thanked her for her service as Champion and she returned the regalia so lovingly cared for. A new Champion needed to be named and the THLady Govindi Dera Ghazi Khan was asked to take up that mantel. Scroll by Master Caleb Reynolds and THLady Zofia Kowalewska.

THESCORRE: Their Excellencies called for their Thrown Weapons champion. As he was unable to attend court, his regalia was presented to their Excellencies and his successor, Torbjörn Sigurdson, was called before them. THESCORRE: Their Excellencies then called forth all of the youth that had competed in the youth tournament. Their Excellencies gifted all of the youth with some coins as a token of their appreciation. While the competition was close, Eli was victorious and named their youth champion. While all the youth were assembled, their Excellencies wished to recognized one who had traveled far to participate in the tournament and who fought well. This they named, Lilly Weaver as their youth Privateer. Scroll by Gwen Cooke, words by Baroness Daedez, calligraphy by Micro of Soft.

Her Excellency was impressed by the skill and zeal with which all of the youth participated but their was one who seemed to be have the most fun and thus, Hjortr Sigvaldason was named Baroness's inspiration. Scroll by Lady Murdia Drusilla Vettia Portia, wording and calligraphy by Baron Eldjarn

His Excellency was also suitably impressed by the chivalry and honor with which the youth carried themselves. One was such an example as he, Robert, was named Barons choice. Scroll by Gwen Cooke, wording and calligraphy by Baron Eldjarn

HAEL: In accordance with the tradition of recognizing the participants who challenge themselves during the Champions competition, one is recognized having competed in the MOST events. Their Excellencies saw fit that the The Iron Man, errr Iron “Subject” be named as Master Caleb Reynolds. Scroll most excellently executed by Baroness Ekaterina Volkova.

Their Excellencies wished to thank several members of the populace for their help throughout the day, be it at the MOL table, helping in the tournaments or holding an umbrella. The following gentles were given Hael Stones

THESCORRE: Their Excellencies realized that there was some business that needed to be dealt with and called forth the Order of the Broche. Once assembled, the order was asked if it was still their wish to add to their numbers. They did and Thus Dehka the dancer was called before their Excellencies and made a companion of the Order of the Broche for her skills in dancing and "Dehka-rating" the world around her. It was brought to the attention of their Excellencies that there were two unfinished scrolls that need to be addressed. Thus the Order of the Raven's feather, was called before them. They were asked if there were two individuals who were not present with the order that could take on such a task. There were two individuals who were up to the task. Gwen Cooke and Torbjörn Sigurdson were called before the order for their tireless service and made companions of the Order of the Raven's Feather. Their Excellencies called forth all gentles for whom this was their first event. They thanked them for attending and gifted them with a drinking vessel.

Baroness Gina Dragonite requested a moment of the courts time and presented their Excellencies with largess that they may gift to visiting monarchs and dignitaries as they see fit. The Excellencies graciously accepted the gifs and thank her Excellency for her generosity.

Lastly their Excellencies called forth all of the members of Three Swans and the Aardvarks. They thanked them for their service over the last two years and gifted them with a year off from service.

Festival of the Passing of the Ice Dragon, the 13th day of April in the 53rd year of the Society (2019 in the Common year) in the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael.

An account of the court of Padraig and Juliana, Baron and Baroness of the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael in the Kingdom of AEthelmearc, held at the Festival of the Passing of the Ice Dragon, the 13th day of April in the 53rd year of the Society (2019 in the Common year) in the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael. Reported by THLady Zofia Kowalewska, Ice Dragon Pursuivant with the assistance of Lady Thallia Pappion, Baroness Muriel du Lac and Lady Simonetta d'Alfassi.

Morning Court:

Their Excellencies welcomed all to the celebration of Ice Dragon.

Noble Rhys Penbas ap Dafydd then made a few announcement for the day and thanked all for coming again.

Their Excellencies then wished to see Sir Thomas the Mighty. Being a little shy, Their Excellencies joined Sir Thomas and his family in court. Being brave and mighty, a true example of a champion, Her Excellency Juliana made Sir Thomas her Champion. Sir Thomas presented her with a bouquet of pussy willows. Their Majesties also wished to speak with Sir Thomas. His Majesty presented Sir Thomas with a book of Knightly Virtues and Shield. Her Majesty presented Thomas with a bracelet made by her hands is working on a scroll for Sir Thomas. Sir Thomas then presented Her Majesty with a bouquet of pussy willows.

So worthy a warrior needs to be equipped for battle. He was presented with sword, armor, collar, cloak, spurs and a banner. Items were presented by Baron William Freskyn Murray, Baroness Katherine Kiersey, their son Nicholas, Mistress Jenna and Baroness Clarice Roan.  

Brother Bobby presented Their Excellencies with an Ice Dragon Egg.

Court was suspended till evening.

Court Resumed and Noble Rhys Penbas ap Dafydd made some final announcements.

Baron Caleb was then called in to announce the winners of the Rapier tournaments. Lord Robert Hawksworth took first place in the Rapier Tournament. In the second contest of the day, a trivia based contest, Team Milkshake (Lord Andreas Jager von Holstein and Eyrny) claimed victory. Rapier scrolls by Master Caleb Reynolds.

Lord Abdullah al-Rashid was then summoned to bring word from the Rattan lists. Douglas Henry (first place- Scroll by THLady Zofia Kowalewska) was victorious over Duke Maynard von dem Steine (second place- Scroll by Mistress Jenna). Lady Svava was awarded with Best Kit. Scroll by Baroness Ekatarina Volkova.  

Lord Dyryke Hastings then announced the winners of the Youth combat. Robie placed first overall. Scroll by Mistress Liadhain ni Chleirigh na Coillte. Most chivalrous was presented to Lily. Scroll by Roland and Mistress Liadhain ni Chleirigh na Coillte.  

Mistress Cori Ghora was then asked to present herself with news from the Arts and Sciences Pentathalon. Their Majesties chose Baroness Aranwen verch Rhys ap Gwalter as their choice for her work on the beaded belt on the Zweeloo princess outfit. The Pentathlon winners were then announced

Their Excellencies then announced a series of new orders were in the process of being added to our Baronial Awards. The Children of the Hael deserve the same recognition for their service, their art and skill on the lists. Once such youth was deserving to be named the principle to the unnamed youth Service order. Wentliana Verch Meuric was called forward and award that honor. Promissory scroll by their Excellences Padraig and Juliana.

Master Charles of Alden was then called forward. For ALL the years of service and dedication to the Barony, he was named to the Order of the Tangled Rose. Scroll by Mistress Liadhain ni Chleirigh na Coillte

Their Excellencies wished to recognize those involved with the Baronial Banner Project: Mistress Jenna, THLady Brigette de Sainte Mere-Eglise, Lady Morgana, Roze and Guiseppina

And lastly, Their Excellencies wished ALL to recognize the excellent work of the Troll Staff whose goal was to shorten your wait time and make it easier.
