Summer’s End
The Court Report of Their Excellencies, Carolus and Isolda, Baron and Baroness of The Rhydderich Hael, held at Summer’s End in the Canton of Beau Fleuve on September 13, AS. 50, as witnessed by Baroness Ekaterina Volkova, Dragon’s Tongue Pursuivant.
Their Excellencies welcomed all who braved the wet weather to attend the festivities of the day.
Akayuma Yatoru Kage’o was called before Their Excellencies. Her Excellency spoke of how this young man stepped onto the Thrown Weapons range and was immediately noted for his skill and went on to become Baronial Thrown Weapon’s Champion. IF that were not enough, he has journeyed to learn the attire of his culture and household. For all this he was named a member of the Dragon’s Condordium. Scroll by THL Zofia Kowalewska.
Their Excellencies asked that all children present to please come into court. Her Excellency spoke of how the youth of the Society are the Future and wished to thank all that attended the event. Their Excellencies then present each child with a handmade fortune teller as a thank you and remembrance of this day.
Their Excellencies thanked the autocrat, Sir Ængus MacBain, for traveling far from his home to run the event. They presented him with a gift of Dragon Wine. Sir Ængus was then given leave to speak of the activities of the day.
He thanked all who attended and spoke of how no event can happen without a good support staff. Without those who served as cook, toll, marshal, mol, set-up and clean up, none of it would have been possible and he thanked those that gave of their time.
Sir Ængus then spoke of the special fund raiser that was held to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. With the generous donations of cash and gift cards, over $600 was raised for the cause. Drawings were then held for the special prizes.
An Arts and Sciences competition was held with the theme of “What I Learned On My Summer Vacation”, where entrants were to bring the class handout of a class they attended at Pennsic, along with the item they learned to make. Sir Ængus announced that Lady Alime bint Yorgi was the populace choice for her appliqued pillow. Scroll calligraphed by Mistress Sthirrum Caithness upon illumination by Lady Rosalia Krowczykowa.
Lord Alexander du Lac was then invited to speak of the day’s fencing tournament. Six fencers braved the elements. Don Behrand von Elmdorf was the overall winner of the tournament. Scroll by Baron Caleb Reynolds.
Baron Caleb Reynolds was then asked to tell of the thrown weapons competition. Many stalwart throwers came to the range but Lady Amelia Soteria proved victorious. Scroll by Lady Bridgette de Saint Mere-Eglise and Lady Rosalia Krowczykowa.
Their Excellencies then demanded the presence of Lord Bovi Davidson. Their Excellencies have seen the skill that he has shown upon the fighting field, and how well he did as their representative to the Known World Interbaronial Champions Tournament at Pennsic. For his skill and encouragement of new fighters, he was named a member of the Order of the Dragon’s Combatant. Scroll by Mistress Gillian Llewellyn of Ravenspur.
Lord Gawin Hawkseye was then invited into court. After a long hiatus, Lord Gawin returned to the Barony and has been a very avid supporter of the archery community in the Barony. His skill and service brings honor to the Barony and for that he was made a member of the Dragon’s Condordium. Scroll by THL Eleanore Godwin.
Their Excellencies again thanked all who attended the event and asked that all those that received scrolls in their court to please show them off after court so all may see the hard work of the scribes of the Rhydderich Hael.
